i just made a "split Rail" as a baby blanket. I put it together over a weekend and only used 3 colors. It went together easily and the parent's really like it.

my 'go to' is BQ quilt from Maple Island - made with the 12" square to make an 18" block...very quick and can show off some dynamic fabrics in the 12 in squares

I love the look of this one - is there a specific "instruction/pattern" you used for this D9P quilt to get the sashing/cornerstones between the blocks? I'm a new quilter so I pretty much still need directions to follow beyond the quilt block itself.

I have several quickies that I like.
First is Scrappy Trips Around the World - I did it with 7 fabrics - one for the borders and it turned out gorgeous. It's a Bonnie Hunter pattern on her web site.
Also love Hidden Wells - google it - red dawn has a great tute on it.
Any Bonnie Hunter design on her web site Quiltville.com

A small square surrounded by another square etc. looks very impressive. This is NOT my quilt but it is a beautiful example of what I am trying to describe. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...r/0ab95b44.jpg

Thanks GemmyF ... no wonder I didn't find it on QC, as per the earlier reference!
