I am interested in making a selvage purse. If anyone has extras...I want the place where the name/dots are. I need one wide or more . Thanks

Margie :)

Girls ... this one woman made a whole dress from them. It had a fifties type shaping with a twirly round skirt too!  I just couldn't believe my eyes! Check out the other thread here on the main page ... amazing! Almost beyond belief!

Ruth: I will take all that you want to give away. I use all parts of the fabric for my art quilts. Let me know and I will give you my address. Thank you. P.S. I will pay for postage. GiGi

If anyone else wants to be rid of their selvages; at least 1/2 inch please, let me know and I will pay for postage. Thanks, GiGi :D :D :D :D

Are you gals talking about cutting the selvages off in long strips the length of fabric before you cut your strips across the width...I cut my width of strips and then cut the selvages off.
Should it be done the other way to save me some cutting?
There have been times I need that last half inch to get the amount of blocks needed from each strip.

I may have some for you. How long do you need them to be? I have some with just dots and some with just words. Interested? (have some with both!) PM your addy if you want them.

While on the subject of what to do with them - years ago I rolled them into balls (using fabric glue where necessary to hold them down) and put them in a wooden bowl on the table. Looked pretty. A friend makes them for her cat to play with.

Loretta, I'm not sure what project I'll tackle with these selvages. I'd love to collect enough for a wall hanging to hang in my quilting room.

And thanks redquilter! I PM'd my address.
