When using selvages how wide do you like your selvages to be to be able to use them?

depends on the final look you want. I cut mine about an inch wide so I get some of the color of the fabric to use if I want it...I can cut it off later if all I want is the white part.

Some cut them as wide as 2"... I would cut wider if you don't know what you are going to do with them yet :D:D:D
