A couple of weeks ago, I sent a quilt to Tuskaloosa, AL after the tornado...Sent it to a church that was listed as a receiving point. It was only a scrappy quilt with a white sheet on the back.
Today, I received a thank you note from the family that received it...a little girl of 7 loves it! I won't give out her name or any particulars...but it is nice to know your work is appreciated.
Also, with the note was a xerox copy of a photo...with a note written on it...we were hiding from the storm here...
There is nothing left but rubble. It looks like it might have been a bathroom at one time.
I'm so happy that I sent that quilt.

there is nothing better than to get a thank you to let you know that the love you sent off was received and is appreciated. there is nothing worse than wondering if that quilt you sent to a shelter or hospital or other place is sitting on a shelf or is being used.

How did you find out to send a quilt to a church?
I called my church today about donations and they said they don't get involved in things like that as there are charities that take used clothing and there is also a food pantry.
I guess trying to start a club will be harder than I thought. :'(
