    Sew Excited!!

I think I finally have enough Alexander Henry fabrics in my possession to make an exclusive AH fabric quilt front, border & backing!!! There will be no other fabrics but his in it.
I am also thinking I may take the selvedges from the fabrics I use and sew them on the back of the quilt....what do you all think about that idea?

Sounds like fun. What fabrics are you using and what pattern?

    Heather,
I am using a lot of different fabrics ranging in production date from 1993 to this year I have not decided if I want to do it with a large tumbler or a star or the Buzzard's roost block so I can showcase his prints...

The only fabrics I've ever used exclusively in one quilt are the St. Jude fabrics. Made a Kaye Wood 6-hour quilt with it.

Okay if I make the quilt 11x11 in 10" tumblers it will be 110" x 110" and require 121 different AH fabrics. I am going to count mine tonight and see how many I have lol

I AH! I'm currently working on a Ghastlies quilt for my daughter. Just the other day I saw a picture of a quilt made with salvage scraps. It was really cool. I love that idea for the back.

I'd love to see your ghastlies quilt . Well I have about 152 AH prints....think some may have to go on the back surrounding the selvedge squares....

April........yes yes yes yes put the selvedge's on the back. That way you and anyone who will inherit will always know what was used in the quilt. I am looking forward to seeing the progress on this quilt. Will you please post pics here of your progress as you go along. I am jealous of all the AH fabrics you have. I have maybe 30 to 40 different AH fabrics. I must get more, so any of you, if you are looking to trade or sell some of your AH fabric I am your girl.

    Hugs,

So, if you make it 11x13, and use the others in borders, you should be good to use them all up on the front!!! And I think using the selvages on the back is an awesome idea; for all quilts!!! lol.

    Some pictures

    Hello All,
Melinda I have been acquiring Henry fabrics for many years. I will gladly part with some once I have all of my cuts out of them I do not have many owl prints i think I only have one or two. I am attaching a few pictures of some of the fabrics. Not all of the fabrics are here as some are in the wash and some in a tote I haven't pulled down for washing yet.

Wow, what a wide variety of prints he has. I have some of those as remnants and didn't even know who made them. LOL

April, I just love all the AH fabrics and i cant wait to see your quilt when you get it done, do you have a pattern planned?

funny I have several yards of the Ghastlies and I just can't find the right pattern I was thinking maybe a turning twenty just to show off all the fabrics.
don't throw your scraps away save them for 1" squares.
