Sewing Machine Help
#1
When I sew over pins my machine skips a stitch right after the pin. The one stitch is longer then the rest of them. My stitch is set at 2.5 but when I go over a pin it looks more like 3.5-4. It only happens when sewing over pins, all the rest of the stitches are fine. What would be causing this? I have changed needles but that didn't help. Everything else is fine.
Thanks

well i don't sew over pins. some machines simply don't like them. they can mess up your needle and more.
sorry, but try taking the needles out just before your foot goes over them. just takes a tad more time but worth it.

Sewing over pins canthrow off the machine's timing or break the needle. I try really hard to pull the needle out before I get to that point. If it is a real critical seam, I slow my machine down and sew single stitch mode to just before the needle - then pull it out.

I used to sew over pins . I stopped when the tip flew and sure glad it wasn't in my eye or face :D Odds are you won't hit many but just in case...old machines are bult to take a beating...I wonder if anyone really ever got one in the eye

Sewing over pins used to work fine but not anymore.
I dont know if its the newer machines or the pins. I know those long pins with the flat heats do not like being sewn over.
So now I remove them before the needle goes over them.
