Default Sewing machine repair in Lexington, kentucky

My Bernina 710 keeps getting thread stuck in the throat plate. I'm guessing the tensions off? Anyhow, I can't fix it. Sometimes when using the thread ciutter, the thread gets stuck under the throat plate. I called First in Quilting. They said they'd need the machine three weeks. The last time I took a machine to Quilters Square, I waited two months and nothing was ever done to it. Does anyone know of a goo Bernina repair person in Leximgton, Kemtucky? If not any suggestions on fixing my rats nest? Bonnie

In your service panel, there's a tutorial on how to move the cutter out where you can clean it yourself. Those pesky thread bits can sure ruin a good sewing day. It's not likely the tension. But it could be a burr on the hook or needle plate.

Did you check out Sew a Lot in Lexington? They're really expensive and I've honestly not used them because of that, but I understand they do good work. This is not personal experience, just what I've heard.

You might check with your LQS, they usually deal with the local dealers. Did you check Bernina USA website? They have all dealers listed.

I don't find Sew A Lot expensive, but right now they are getting ready to do a remodel and are not taking any repairs. I can say to stay away from Continental Sewing in Eastland! There is a Bernina dealer in Liberty. The name is Quilter's Trunk. I have spoken with them and they are very nice and I have heard a lot of good things from people who have had them do repairs. Their phone number is 606-787-7648. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9-5. Address is 694 South Fork Creek Road in Liberty. Their website is www.quilterstrunk.com
They are probably a little over an hour south of Lexington. I know from Richmond it takes me about that long to get to Liberty.
