    I made a frame that fit around the sew machine from MDF. After rough cutting the hole for the sewing with a jig saw I clamped the pattern frame to the table top. Then all I had to do was use a flush trim bit in a router to clean up the edges. The bit is designed to follow a pattern.

    The sewing machine sits on a piece of plywood that rides on the internal rails. I installed leveling screws to the platform so I could make it flush with the table. You can see the platform in the photo showing the faux drawer removed.
