Default The sewing machine used on Midnight Quilt Show

The machine says HandiQuilter on it but is used for piecing, not in a frame. I have looked on Handiquilter web site but didn't see it. Anyone have any idea which machine it is? In the video forward to 3:01 and there is a good view of the back of the machine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQsOXAf5kzo&t=272s

Handi Quilter now carries a line of regular sewing machines - I'm not sure who makes them though.

Well, they did . . . I just went to their site and don't see any, but I know they were there last time I was on the site.

I know they were someone else's machine that were badged Handi-Quilter. I guess they must have decided to stop doing that.

Ok - I found them. However it looks like they are only offering the accessories and no longer selling the machine . . .

My DH found them = the are not sold directly through HQ anymore

Huh. I wonder if HQ gave her the machine free, provided she use it in her videos (advertising).

Juki makes the HQ Stitch machines. The Stitch 510 is the same as a Juki 2010.

Thank you Macybaby. I wonder why there isn't a link to that site from the main website. If I hadn't been curious of what the machine was on the video I would have never known about them. There is a Handi-Quilter dealer close to me and I have never seen one of theses machines in her shop.

That's a big price difference if the only thing difference is the name on the machine. Juki $800 to Handi Quilter $1500.

Actually, I think they're made by Janome. The 210 is a Janome Jem, 510 is the Janome 1600, and I forget the model equivalent of the 710 (I think it's one Janome has discontinued, but not certain) .

In any case, it seems to have been a short-lived venture! I believe Angela Walters is a HandiQuilter spokesperson, so she likely did get the machine as a promotional item.

It is so hard to figure out who actually makes a machine. My friend bought a Brother Dream Quilter. When she went to the Brother booth in Houston to ask some questions, she was taken to the technical expert at HandiQuilter, right across the aisle. There's so much cross labeling, we need a map to figure out the players!

Janome makes the HQ domestic machines. I saw them at my dealer before they went public.

Interesting the different responses as to whose machines they really are.

My bets ..... that it will be one of the brands that HQ already re-brands their Sweet 16 for.
Who all? .... Babylock for sure .... and I think it is Pfaff, Husqvarna and someone else.

Babylock and HQ are both represented here in Canada by the same company and sales reps.
So, that would make me wonder if there is a further relationship,
in that Babylock are relabelling some of their machines with the HQ name.

Only some educated guesses here ............ nothing official!
