I spent a lot of time when I had a broken foot cutting all my scraps into strips and squares. I have squares that are 1.5", 2", 2.5", 3", 4", 5" and 6" (and a few florals 10" from a swap.) I have strips from 1" up to 5" and then a drawer with pieces bigger than 5" but less than a fat quarter. It took a long time, but it's really handy for making scrap quilts. I've made scrappy purple, blue, green and teal quilts and I can just pull out the size strips that I need in the colors I need. But no matter how many I use, the drawers never seem to get any emptier!!
