Just an FYI - if you’re going to insure your quilt, it will only be covered for materials used unless you can provide proof of a certified appraisal.

When you mail any pkg you should put the TO address inside all packages in case the label is ripped or torn off. Packages are "handled" by machines not people. FYI - print address do not write, machines also read the addresses.

I never tell them what is inside my packages just to be safe. I do tell them its not dangerous material though. Seems too many quilts have been stolen thru the mail services these days and now during the holidays I'm sure more packages of all sorts will never find their way to their destination.

The quilts that I have shipped to Germany and the US have all been baby quilts, and Customs has accepted Baby Gift with the value at $100. I have not had any difficulties, but I have always shipped Canada Post and not UPS. Did you search on UPS for any tips?
