Shopping Quilt Supplies Addiction
So have a little bit of insomnia and my day will start between 3 or 4 am EVERY DAY! House is quiet. No distractions so I start my routine. Get my coffee and decided what project to work on or should I start new. But first must check daily deals on-line: Quilt in a Day, Quilted Twins, Missouri Star Quilt Co. Have to wait until 8.00 am central time for Fat Quarter Shop. Now I have to decide, do I need that item, and if so, is there something to add to my cart to justify shipping. Past 3 days passed on all the sales...no...I lie...ordered more batiks for DH yesterday. Am I missing other quilting daily deals?
Oh, daily puzzle on The Quilt Show. Have to make sure don't have Alz yet.

Oh, I remember feeling like I was a sucker for the daily deals on MSQ! Ha ha! I still love everything I purchased from her, but have by no means used all that fabric (yet!). I don't know how I did it, but finally weaned myself away from checking in and being tempted on a daily basis. Spent the whole week sewing fabric storage boxes, refolding, and organizing fabrics to store in those boxes, and realize I should stay away from fabric/quilt shopping for quite a while!
Sorry to hear you have insomnia. Try to stay positive and look at how productive you can be in a day!

I am an early bird but not that early! Since the time change I am up by about 5-5:30. I am a lucky sound sleeper for 7-8 hrs a night...no daily naps. I don’t order a lot but I do visit all those sights. I am more of a LQS shopper and I have enough fabric to keep me busy for another lifetime. That said, if a friend calls and says let’s go I. An be out the door in minutes! I also love to buy books from my favorite designers and patterns from Val at “The Quilt Merchant”. It is a sickness but it has kept me sane during this disgusting time.

I have gotten away from checking sites daily for two reasons. I rarely like any of the "daily deals" out there, and have seen very limited sale fabrics, which is about all I buy anyway. Lucky for me though, I have recently acquired an embroidery machine via an estate sale and am happily now buying thread and haunting embroidery design sites like there is no tomorrow. I'll have enough embroidered dish towels to open a store soon.

Julienm1-I am like you-up early and get my coffee and get online to see what deals I am NOT buying! I have ordered daily deals from FQS and MSQC both and still have most everything still sitting in my sewing room ready to be used so decided I don't need to order any more "daily deals" but am so attempted sometimes.

That warning pops up if the web address hasn't been changed to identify with the security measures of the browser. It doesn't mean it will be a security breech. Some of the established sites I buy from, I get this message sometimes. It's browser issue.
The Quilt Merchant doesn't have the s after the http. That is the reason for the warning in Chrome. The website should get it fixed because they are losing a lot of business with the warning popping up. I have emailed them but seems they aren't interested in fixing it.
