Walking Foot causing tension issues
I have a Brother 9050. When I use my walking foot the tension on the underside of the fabric is too tight. I've determined that the thread pushes up against the walking foot and the thread is really hard to pull down from the top, which doesn't seem to make sense. I tried replacing the needle. I cleaned out the machine and changed the thread spool, rewound the bobbin, and made sure that the bobbin was threading correctly. Finally I removed the walking foot and put a regular foot on the machine and ........ no more bottom tension problems.
I don't know why this is happening because it was working fine last night.
Anyone have any ideas?

Some things to check - First, are you absolutely sure your walking foot is installed correctly? Second, are your feed dogs up? Third, could your walking foot be broken? To check this, take it off the machine and move the arm up and down to see if the dogs on the bottom of the foot are moving. If they aren't moving, the foot is broken.
