Default should I call this done?

I bought these four apple basket blocks for $3 at a quilt guild's show. The colors aren't really 'my' colors but I thought I'd enjoy doing something with them.

The next photo is where I'm at with it. It will eventually be a small wall hanging. I plan to finish with an envelope finish instead of binding, which is the reason for the thin red border.

I know my added green apple and red buttons are a little garish compared to the original fabrics but I decided to use things in my stash.

Shall I leave the empty borders above and below the green apple bare? Maybe just do some cross hatching in that space?

I think it looks great, very different than the blocks when you purchased them. You have made this your own original creation.

    I'd like a little crosshatching.
