I like both, but really feel excited and happy when I view the second; it's like an immediate rush of pleasure. I think it would make the quilt more unique and creative.

It is a matter of taste. Just like there is more than one flavor of ice cream. It is your quilt. Either would be very nice.

I love the first option! The beige brings out the beige color in the star, and your fancy quilting would also be more visible. Please share with us your completed project....I am sure it will be a real beauty! Good luck and have fun with it!
