Your quilt is gorgeous! I think log cabins look great with SID on all the seams. Or feathers in either the dark or light areas (or both).

If I use a monofilament thread, I prefer rayon or polyester to nylon. The nylon doesn't hold up as well over time and can be melted by an iron.

What a beautiful log cabin quilt. So glad to see the traditional red center too.

I quilter my sister's log cabin stitch in the ditch and then I added a tie in the center. It was my second finished quilt. She still loves it.

Have you looked in the Picture Gallery to see how the other Log Cabins are quilted?

    Very nice quilt.

Hint on the invisible thread though. Use the Polyester thread. Rayon and nylon will both melt under the iron and don't hold up as well. Sulky makes a clear Poly and a "smoke" poly for the darker squares.

I've always liked feathered quilting on log cabins.

I used SID on my courthouse steps and it turned out really well, but if I had it to do over I think I would include some swirly sort of patterns in the sashing.
