I got up this morning after very little sleep and wanted to sew. I started to work on a very intricate block but my mind wouldn't cooperate so I figured I could do 4 patches. I cut my strips just so...no problem...sewed strips in pairs... no problem...subcut the strips and sewed in 4 patches......big problem. I had them assembled in 2 different ways so i carefully rip out the 7 that were "wrong" and proceed to put them together like the top one on my "good" pile. Only problem was....the top one was wrong too..........grrrrrrrrr...so now i have to rip out 8 of them. I carefully get all of them assembled and think "I can do this". I should have quit while I was ahead. I did the first row okay and got the second row done. After I assembled the 2 rows I found that I had put the rows together wrong.... and the blocks are going in different directions...........back to the drawing board. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Thanks for letting me vent............

I discovered working on a 4 patch doll quilt that it is really easy to sew them wrong. pick up two 4's off the pile, turn to machine, and if you turn them & sew top or bottom instead of the SIDE, they are wrong. I ripped more on that doll quilt than I usually rip on a throw!
I will always pin 4 patch from now on!
