I recently saw a posting that referenced someone that could help with old singer sewing machine parts and also how old the machine was. I failed to bookmark it and need it badly. I need a belt for my treadle machine and bought an old old portable singer at a garage sale yesterday for $5.00. Not a Featherweight - It is a hefty hefty one. Would appreciate your help. It has a wooden case cover and the machine is fastened into the base. It is pretty awsome.

Check the Vintage Sewing Machine Shoppe...I think you're wanting Billy...
As for the treadle belt, you can get one on ebay for about $8....or you can do what I did and buy a leather boot lace! ;)
Need the serial number off of the Singer to help you identify it... (and we LOVE pictures!!)

Here's a website that can help you date your Singer.

As for parts, check with Billy (Lostn51). He might be able to help you.

I looked at my treadle machine - It needs a belt - maybe you could help me out there also. And discovered that it is missing the slide piece that covers the bobbin area. Maybe you have that also. Her serial # is AC566579. Thanks a bunch.
