Default Singer Sewing Machine.

I just picked up a Singer at a yard sale for 15.00. It is black & has 26 disks with it. The disks are fastened to the front of the machine with a large chrome screw instead of dropping in the top like I was used to. I was wondering how I can identify it & find out how old it is. There is a small brass plate at the front with 306K on it, & underneath the machine I believe is the serial # EK304100. It also has a lot of other attachments & feet.
Do you think the small # is the model? I would really appreciate hearing from someone.

The model # is 306 and if you google that or do a search here, there's lots of info. about it.

I just Googled "Singer Sewing machine 306k" and clicked on "images". Looks like a really wonderful vintage Singer!

According to the Singer website that serial # is from 1955.
