Singer Sewing Machines
#1
I'm thinking about buying a new Singer (I have a Brother now, works good, but want a computerized) I'm looking at two different machines the Ingenuity(7436) and the 7470 model (called Companion and/or Confidence).
Has anyone used either of these, and what is your thoughts on them if you have?
Thanks,
Mary

Mary, I have the Ingenuity. It is less than 2yrs old and is ready to go to the shop for the 3rd time. Sometimes the top thread hangs on something and snatches the bobbin case out of it's place so the needle hits it and breaks and also makes a gouge in the case so then everytime the top thread tries to wrap around the bobbin like it is supposed to it catches on that rough spot and messes everything up again. That happened several times and knocked it out of time. Now it's doing the same as butercreamcakeartist's is. the top thread just wads uo in the bobbin case for no apparent reason. The foot pedal has a catch so you can't glide from slow to med. speed it snaps and you're suddenly going full blast. I have a less than 1 yr old Singer Futura embroidery machine that I sew on when it's in the shop and I just love it and have had no problems at all with it.
Good luck finding one.

I don't know about those machines, but I just bought a Singer Touch n Sew that I'm loving! I've never had anything but a Singer. I think they are pretty good for the price. I ordered mine online from sewinginusa.com and got free shipping and no tax about a month ago.

The wife of one of my husbands co-workers has the Companion/Confidence 7470 and said she loves it. I received an email from JoAnns.com saying it had been ordered for me for Christmas(husband went ahead and ordered it), should get it within 5 - 10 days.
