I have the website to check on the serial number http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html
My serial number is G0943512. I am having a difficult time trying to find that on one of the charts provided. Is there anyone here who can help me interpret the serial number chart? TIA

I bought this machine over 15 years ago when I lived in Florida. I've moved at least 8 times since then, hauling the machine to each new location. I remember that my father cleaned and oiled it many years ago, but couldn't try it out as it needs a new belt. I've purchased the belt, but haven't installed it. I didn't recall that the decals are in such good condition. The veneer on the top of the cabinet is a bit rough, though. It has a bazillion attachments which I haven't gone through yet. It also has an aftermarket walking foot.

That's a DUH on me. I never scrolled all the way to the last page of the G's as I thought -0- comes before the other numbers. Of course it is clear now. Thanks so much.

It sure is a beauty! How wonderful that you have a family history of it.

I recently purchased the same machine - 66 Red Eye in the same cabinet - love having this piece of history. My machine is a 1922 model. I had the same issue figuring out date of 'allotment' until I realized the '0' was a zero number & not an alphabetical letter 'O'.
Have fun with your new/old treadle - its a beauty.
You'll find tips on this site re: easy ways to bring back the beauty of the cabinet without destroying it's value.

I have this machine, my serial number indicated it was made in 1921. I haven't used mine for some time now. I need to get her out and practice.
