It was a disapointment. It was the smallest JoAnn's I have ever seen. When I ask the clerk where the quilt batting was he didn't even know what quilt batting was. I did get 50% off on my batting, that was nice.

We had a super small one also until Nov when they reopened as a Superstore...Maybe your's is next on the list...They were bought out and are all being upsized

Yeah, we used to have a VERY small Joann's, but TODAY a new one opened. I can't wait to visit the new store.

I had a very disappointing trip to Joann's today too. They advertised some plastic storage cases which I wanted for my scraps. They had only a couple of choices, none that fit my needs, and today was the first day of the sale! So I meandered over to the batting dept. One can always use more batting and I had my coupons in hand. The place was a mess! I was there about 10 days ago when batting was on sale and it was a mess then. They haven't done anything to fix it up. Some packages were ripped and the batting spilling out - the same ones from a couple of weeks ago and no new stock. I left the store without buying anything!

When I was in a local Jo Ann during the first part of January, the store was a mess. They were doing inventory and it was crowded with the inventory personnel. So maybe they had just done inventory in your local store, too and haven't cleaned it up yet.

I hope so. I drove 45 minutes to get there and came home with nothing. I don't know if the buyout has something to do with this or not. I hope they get they're act together soon.

The closest JoAnn's to me does not have a good selection of quilting notions at all. Over half the store is home dec. stuff.

I was in a JoAnn's fifty miles from home today. The fabrics haven't gone up yet, but I did see some incoming home dec that was priced higher than it was several years ago. The store was clean, the cutters and registers were able to keep up and several stockers were busy. Apparently, the store now has a young male manager and he was doing a great job overseeing everything. In the past, the cutting table lines were ridiculously long, so this was a pleasant surprise. Eighteen years ago, this was a 'big' store. Now it's only medium size, but they had everything I wanted. Not all quilting was on sale - just the batting on rolls, all thread, Olfa products and most quilting fabric. I don't understand why they have quilting supplies in two separate areas. We didn't when we had a store here.

Our JoAnns is quite nice. It opened about a year ago and is large but not considered a superstore because they don't do custom framing. I had 2 50% off coupons so I went today and bought a package of rotary cutter blades and a book. I cannot resist the books. I probably spend almost as much on books as I do fabric. (i was a lit major in college so i love all kinds of books, always have).
