I am sorry but I have to come back to the group with another query. I am currently trying to sew my new velvet curtains and my Bernina just can't find the right tension for the seams. The velvet has a mind of its own and heads off in whatever direction it likes. Any suggestions? please.

Are you using a walking foot. It will help the two layers feed more evenly and perhaps you will have more control.

velvet is a bear to work with. the suggested pins and walking foot should help a lot.

Wish I had known that I had a walking foot when I was stitching my velvet and satin cloak....talk about difficult to keep together (what a big bear).

Thank you all once again. As I still have another five curtains to make up I shall have plenty of practise of working with this material. But I doubt I shall buy that fabric again.!!
