Default Small Bags

Our guild adopted a safe house for abused women. Sometimes they leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs and their kids. Aside from donations of household items, clothing, etc., we make these little bags to hold shampoo, toothbrush and paste, deo., comb, etc. I think these little bags make it more personal. The bags are 9x11x3 and take about 1 hours to make.

Your bags are wonderful. One of my guilds did a similar thing. We got upholstery samples donated from a local furniture store and used them to make bags for the local women's shelter. They were simple bags, not lined, and we used the upholstery fabric for the straps. We were told that they were very well received.

Those bags are nice. I'm sure the ladies appreciate having a bag to use instead of a plastic garbage bag. It would feel more like they were a real person instead of a punching bag!

Those look great. We happen to also have a children's shelter near us. Quite often CPS will bring these young children to this shelter and they have nothing. What a great way to put a smile on their faces if each kiddo got to pick a bag made in a bright kid friendly fabric and find some goodies inside the bag.
