Good idea also. Here in Corpus Christi/ Nueces Co. backpacks are donated for kids that go from one foster home to maybe another and many only were given garbage bags. The backpacks make it so much nicer for them.

The bags are lovely and a great idea. I also like Debbie's idea for a bag for children - perhaps with a colouring book and some pencils or some such.

This is so dear what you are doing! Could you point us to the instructions? I'd like to know if the straps are made of fabric or that stiffer webbing type material.

That was my question, can you share what pattern you used? I will buy it or whatever, not looking for a freeby but it looks easy. Easy is good for me cause I can make them twice as fast.

I buy nice bags at thrift stores especially duffle and backpacks for the foster kids. These kids usually have nothing, no one thinks to buy the kid a carry all when they have to move. How hard is it to go to a thrift shop or yard sale and give your foster child a little something? Makes me so mad.............
