I really like blues and yellows together, pinks and greens, etc, but wouldn't call my choices "snappy". I love earth tones, rich colors (like purple, burgundy, greens, browns, etc). I do get some brights, especially when I am making a quilt for a baby. I have inherited most of my brights from my mom and step-mom. I guess you could say that I go with what I feel the recipient would like best, unless, of course the quilt is for me or for my home.

Snappy for me, plus jewel tones and anything blue.

When i saw your thread title, I thought you were asking about my personality!

I used to be 'laid back' - fabric wise, I mean! CWs repros, earthy tones but my horizons have been broadened by the inspiration I've had on the board and now I have brights, batiks, neons even in my stash! So I'm much more balanced these days! :-D

I love jewel tones, but also have lots of soft colors. I like reds. But I would say I have more blues than anything else. Just now starting to love the batiks!

I go for earthy - browns, dark greens, cranberry, florals with these colors. If quilt is for me. I used brights in a biscuit quilt for 20 yr. old DGD, because she likes brights, had to buy them. Really I guess I do have yellows, off whites, subdued golds, pinks and purples and blues, most are what I use when giving them away.

Ditto, here! I don't much like depression-era fabric ... a bit too blah for my taste, nor do I like a lot of what I call dark and dreary fabrics all in one quilt. When I see an entire quilt of dark and dreary, I think it should be in a sod house on the prairies in the 19th century. That alone is depressing.

I lean toward batiks they alway call to me. I have started to try prints in bold colors for quilts. As a teacher I have says it is best to push yourself out of your comfort zone to see what you can create.

I used to be very traditional with earthtones and darks, but after making my daughter's quilt (my avatar), I go for the brights now.

I guess I'm snappy, as I tend to buy bright colors. I
also am into novelity prints. They always seem to have bright
    colors.
