I don't remember what pattern I based it on. I saw a picture online of a quilt using the main block and played with it on EQ7. I'm having trouble getting the oblong flying geese sub-unit to come out the correct size with the points in the right place. Oh well.

I love it! I might try echo quilting along the "curves" on the light blue side of the "curve".

This sent me running to my EQ8, but it's going to take more time!

If you are comfortable doing gentle curves, you could have fun playing up the appearance of curves in your piecing - something like this:

If you want to stick to straight lines, you can get a nice star in the center of your blocks and an shapes radiating out from it - something like this:

I agree with DJ and would use echo quilting on the large blue pieces but I would definitely leave the border alone as it is gorgeous. Sometimes I just add 45° or 60° lines along the sides of the border to qualify as quilting. Needless to say I am not a fan of a lot of quilting.

SITD is good to accent and stabilize the Beautiful Table runner. I think I'd just followthe outline of the pieces.

Platyhiker gave you an excellent suggestion for light quilting with straight lines in the star design she (or he) presented. Additionally those thick lines drawn with red are fairly good approximation of how much spaghetti 12 wt thread will stand out on this piece done in a contrasting color.

Platyhiker's first drawing is kind of what I was thinking. The second one is really nice, and probably my favorite of the two. Great ideas!
