I am new at this. Consequently, the following question is probably not too intelligent. What makes a quilt a bargello quilt?

Very pretty. I did a Lighten Strikes. It was a bit of a challenge with the concentration. I ended up with one very bright yellow in the wrong spot. I couldn't stand it so I remove the one 2" block. Fortuantely the LQS had one fat quarter left of all the colors I used and, yea, it was the one I needed.
Let us know how the quilting turns out. I liked the idea of asking for samples. I've heard horror stories about other people having bad quilting experiences.

A Bargello is done by sewing strips together and cutting them into different widths. You stagger the colors and the widths for the effect you want. I usually sew them into a cylinder and cut, then take out the seam to make the design fit. I hope this explains it. I'm sure someone else can explain it better.

I know what it is but I want to see Barb's tutorial on how to do it. I'm not real good at reading the directions I'm better at watching.

Very nice love the colors. How awesome for you both. She gets to practice and use her new toy and you get your quilt quilted.
