Default First Quilt Poem..

My friend made her very first quilt, she waited until she was in her 60's to ever sew. I quilted it for her on my quilting frame, also a first for me since I just got the frame. She will be giving the quilt to her son and new daughter inlaw as their wedding gift Sat. She is very nervous because as first quilter's know she made a few mistakes but it turned out really pretty I think. So I wrote her poem to stick in with the quilt and here it is.

Lord its just my first quilt..
the only one I ever pieced myself...
let the receiver of my first quilt not keep it on their shelf...

Lord let them spread it out and see just what it is I've wrought,
and I hope they keep in mind
that I have been self taught...

May they make some happy memories in use of my first quilt oh please.
To them it may be just a quilt,
but to me my masterpiece...

A quilting poet! The sentiments in your poem say it just exactly right!
