I have been asked to make a tshirt quilt for my wonderful SIL from all her marathon tshirts. I have ironed the fusible Pellon to them and have cut them out. I am currently building each logo to 12.5" so that they are all the same size. The finished block is supposed to be 21" sq, and the quilt will be a king size when done. I would like to try a Triple Irish Chain with this, but my brain is in hibernation. If possible, can someone figure out the size of the stips that I sew together and the size that gets sewn onto the block. The pattern I want to use is from Quilter's Cache TIC but, I can't seem to get my head around the math. I wish I had my EQ7, but, I'm not ordering it until the end of the week. So any help would greatly be appreciated...unless I have made you all as confused as I am.

so are you saying that you want the center of each open space in the TIC to be one of the t-shirt logos?

Yes...that is what I am trying to do, but, I don't know if it is possible.

if you don't want to applique the t-shirts to the centers after assembling as instructed, let's try looking at it this way:
use this link and scroll down to Block Assemply
http://www.mccallsquilting.com/patte....html?idx=8480

number the sections
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
assemble all the sub sections as pictured except leaving off the left side of 4 and the right side of 6.
it would probably be best now to layout the entire quilt on a large design wall or the floor. now, you'll have to insert the t-shirt sections into the blank spots left by 4 and 6. now, you'll have to sew it all together as you will.
hope there are no flaws in my thinking.

I haven't quite figured it out yet, but, I plan on drafting this on graph paper and try your suggestion that way. I'm still having problem wrapping my head around this one. Either I'm making this much harder than it needs to be or I need to come up with a different course of action.
