Default Opinions Please block for our local Shop Hop

I'm in the process of designing the block for our local Shop Hop. There are 11 shops participating, with each shop making a 12" block. Which center looks better? I worry that the print in the center blends too much with the houses. But I also worry that the cream prints will wash it out. But if it's combined with other blocks, or has a sashing, it may be alright. What do you think?

We're using all 4 houses, but I need to know what center fabric to use -- the dark or light?

I would go with the light centers.

I like the lighter fabrics. The darker ones make the houses look like acorns to me.

If the house is light, use dark door and window. If the house is dark, use light door and window.

How about a strip of the light neutral right under the house and then a color for the corner tip? That would separate(float) the houses but create an hourglass if joined without sashing.
