Hi, all you quilt fans. I need some advice. What type of stabilizer do you use in doing thread art on quilts? I make a lot of tablerunners and wallhangings using applique. The stabilizer I now use still lets the fabric underneath the thread art pucker. It ruins the look of the entire project. Thank you so much for your input.

​Do you mean thread painting on the machine or Redwork embroidery by hand?

Thread painting on my regular sewing machine. All the close stitching buckles the underneath fabric that cannot be stretched or ironed out.
