It sure turned out nice. I think the binding would look best done the traditional way, sewn on the back.

It is very beautiful. The darker background colors really brings the focus to the cross.

I would use the same interfacing on the borders, and I would make a separate binding. Your quilt is beautiful, by the way.

Are you going to satin stitch between the fabrics? Reason I am asking...I see frayed edge on the ray of pic, so I am presuming you have just fused those together.....you say the pic is stiff from double sided fusible. Can it be sewed thru? Just wondering....the project is very striking.......

I love your quilt, but I think I would have used the pre-made 1/4" black bias tape to mimic the leading of stained glass where the fabrics in the rays join, then to cover the edges of the rays where the background fabric shows through, then all around the cross. To sew the bias tape on, use a double needle slightly narrower than the bias tape, which will sew both edges down at the same time.

I am in complete agreement with feline fanatic. You've got time to have it for Easter. froggyintexas

For binding, I am a bit of a traditionalist and prefer the look of a separate binding that is machine stitched to the front then folded to the back and hand stitched down. To me it just finishes things off nicely and neatly. You have so much work and love invested in this piece now, why cut corners at the last stage?

Yes, I am going to do a satin stitch so it looks like stained glass. The pix is stiff but not too stiff to sew on. Thanks
