    First you make the 9patch block as in the first picture. Then you cut that block lengthwise and then crosswise. Turn the pieces til you get the look you want, and then sew it back together! Do a search on this board for D9P and see the beautiful quilts with this method? You will be amazed!!

    I've made three of these, and my students are just finishing theirs. It's a blast to do and comes out gorgeous with scrappy colors!

    Wow! I like that! I never thought of doing a D9P with just 2 colors, but that sure works. I can't wait to see your final layout and the sub-blocks that will be created. I also don't think of those colors as pastels, more of a nice light summery combination; great for the Hamptons!!!

    I like it. For me, I am a pastel person, but truly after sewing something of one color variation, such as pastels, my next project is usually something of another color value.

    In the Hamptons? We always hear about that in the movies! Must be a nice place!
