Stash-building with quarter-yards ... "fat" or "skinny"?

Definitely the fat ones. I purchased several FQ from a couple ladies a few years back. When I opened them all up I was shocked there were so many skinny ones, just 44 " long. Kinda irritating as I thought all FQ were 18 x22. Ok, what if I wanted a 10" square? I sure learned from that one.

Either is okay for me. But if there's a larger print I'd go with a fat quarter.

Definitely Fat Quarter. I have only bought 1/4 yards one time and that was for a Quilt in A Day pattern that called for it. I will even buy 1/2 yards in order to end up with 2 Fat quarters versus buying a quarter yard in shops that will not cut fat quarters. I also find 1/4 yard cuts are always wonky and by the time I have it squared up there is nothing left.
