To keep sewing machine and pedal still I use that roll stuff from car shops usually very cheap and I cut it up and make 6inch squares to hold on material when free motion quilting( can't stand gloves too hot)

This sounds interesting. I will be going to the Paducah Quilt Show and hope to see it demonstrated there.

Love mine. I've used it for a year now. It sits right beside my sewing machine along with my mini Rowenta. Saves a lot of getting up and down. Every seam is pressed closed then pressed open. It makes for such a nicer finish. The finish on the Steady Betty is sort of ..... not sticky at all and not rough at all.... but it holds onto your fabric well - not at all like the slick ironing board covers. I would not give mine up and would buy again if the need arose.
