Default Steamer iron with separate tank

My neighbor had this Rowenta 5030 Steamer iron that she used to make a crease in her husbands blue jeans. He died 4 years ago and the iron has been unused. She recently gave to me bc she knows I piece quilts. At first we couldn’t get the cap unscrewed off the tank. I heated it with a hair dryer and then my husband got his pipe wrench and got it loose. He was then able to unscrew it the rest of the way by hand. We put in the correct water and plugged it up.
Here is the problem I need you to help me solve. After waiting the seven minutes for the pressure to build, the steam won’t come out of the iron. I can hear the water boiling in the tank. The iron plate looks new, no clogged pores. What do you suggest?
I googled and one thing said to clean reservoir with vinegar and water, but not on the 5030 model. I think they meant on a regular iron.

I don't have a Rowenta, but I have had 2 Laura Stars. They recommend emptying the tank and then filling it with tap water and swishing it for several minutes and then dumping it. I was surprised how much stuff had built up in it. I did that several times until nothing came out.

I do wonder if there is a problem either with the iron part or the hose from the tank to the iron. It sounds like the tank is heating properly but its just not getting to the iron. I'm not sure how you could remedy that.

The iron part seems to work fine. The problem seems to be between the tank and the iron, like the hose is stopped up. I don’t know but the steam from the tank isn’t getting to the iron it seems.

This may seem like a silly question but did you press the steam button on the iron? I have a Reliable tank steam iron and I have to depress the button under the handle to get steam from the tank.

I found a manual for "Rowenta pressure iron and steamer" at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/14...?page=6#manual and it looks like cleaning like cashs_mom is what is recommended.
