Sticky Fusible - has anyone tried dryer sheets?
I was using a fusible product, Pellon lite, and it was gumming up my machine needle and causing all sorts of problems. The package said it was machine safe, but I don't think so! I tried a bunch of different things, and finally decided to try a dryer sheet under my project. It cleared up the problems immediately. My question is, will this ruin my sewing machine? Has any one else tried this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you are having problems with your needle getting gummed up ... I keep the single pouch alcohol swabs at my machine, and swipe the needle periodically.
I have done "crumb work" using the dryer sheets ... though if you are wanting a fusible, they would not be a replacement.

I find it really handy when FMQing ... the spray basting gum builds up on the needle after awhile, so I just swipe it off and it's good to go! I find the singles are best as I don't have to worry about spillage with a bottle of alcohol in the sewing room.

Thanks for the alcohol idea! I tried several things, and only sewing machine oil would remove the fusible off of the needle. I'm still using the dryer sheets on the back, until I am done with this project. I am going to start of list of fusible products that gum up my work, and throw away the remainder of the product so I don't use it again! I love Mistyfuse, but unfortunately needed a paper backed webbing for the pattern that I'm designing. Live and learn!
