Since your machine sits on a table, don't forget to sit up high so you look down on the quilt. If you don't have an office chair, sit on a pillow or two. You'll have better control over whatever you do.

I tried stitching next to the seam and used my presser foot as the guide on one of the quilts. It still pulled and got the tiny stitches. I really believe when I'm brave enough to try it again, if I have my quilt supported and change my thread tension, I might have a better outcome. For this Christmas, the four quilts I made have been tacked. They are beautiful quilts...just with little strings everywhere!

I have seen quilts where they went along the seam lines, but did wavy lines. That way they are meant to be that way, not just right along the seam line and need to be straight. Just gentle, small, soft waves. Worth a try.
