I have gone through alot of pictures in sewing rooms on here and I have a question for all you uber organized gals! Where do you get bags that will fit your paterns? I see alot of you have them in bags and displayed on the wall or in a box but are like a plastic sandwich bag but longer. Also I see some of you display fabric on bolts and wonder where you buy them or how you make them. THANK YOU!!

I put my patterns in quart size freezer bags. My bolts are free from my LQS, Hancocks, and Walmart. Just ask they will give them to you free. It just save them sending them to the dump or recycling them.

The bags I have my patterns in are the bags they came in when I purchased them.

If you're talking about patterns like Simplicity and such, I just iron and fold the pattern pieces when I'm done so they slip nice and flat back into the pattern envelopes and I store those in the pattern boxes you can buy at the fabric store.

I ask for the empty bolts at the fabric store too to put fabric on that I have a lot of. The other fabric I fold and group by color and put in my closet.

I get my bags from the Dollar Store. They have freezer zip-lock bags in the larger sizes in the houseware section and they have smaller zip-locks in the craft aisle. I use a hole punch to put in a hanging hole above the zipper part of the top plastic. They also carry really big zip-locks for WIP storage.
The white boards that some of the ladies use for fabric are comic book boards (as previously mentioned), white foam-core boards they cut themselves or recycled cardboard boards. There is an excellent tutorial on this board by Alasasunshine(I think) on how to make your boards yourself.
