Default Strata Star vs Star Spin

For those of you who have made this, are they the same? I was wanting to make the table topper. Couldn't find strata star so ordered the Star Spin pattern, looks like I would just made the center medallion.

I used the Star Spin pattern. It was also called New Orleans Card Trick. Is this the one you're wanting?

Yep, that's the one. Glad to know the pattern I ordered will work. Tried to figure it out from tutorials but was having a brain freeze so just bought it. Thanks.

That is one of my favorite table toppers. I have made three and now seeing this one I want to make another. Will our list of projects ever end?

Years ago when I first saw this pattern I made 8 log cabin blocks and layered them to make the pattern. I turned under the edges and sewed the blocks together. I cut out the underneath parts and machine appliqued the whole thing to a background. I didn't know enough to make wedges and such. LOL I used it for a table topper for fall and now my granddaughter has it for her small apartment table. I eventually bought the pattern when I found it but I think my way is easier then the pattern instructions.
