I'm always on the lookout for creative ways to use strings. This hexagonal pinwheel caught my eye. (See my reply next for the picture. For some reason the New Thread attachment isn't working for me.)

Cute strings and you can do a lot of designs with equilateral triangles.

Like it. What a clever way to use those little bits and pieces. It is time for something new and refreshing for the eye.

That is very cool! Did you use a specialty ruler for it?

When I start a new thread and want to attach a picture, I post, then quickly go in and edit and use the manage attachments and it seems to bring up the paper clip to attach a picture. But it worked just fine having your picture in a separate reply.

Thanks Thimblebug! I did try that, but it wasn't show me the 'manage attachments' option. I will try it again and make sure I didn't miss it!

I used an equilateral triangle ruler. The colored part is just a 2 1/2 strip of strings. I'm still working out what layout I want to do with each of the pinwheels. I was drawing at the breakfast table this morning!

That will make a fun project for sure...I keep a bin of strings and there are a couple fun patterns in Amanda Nyberg’s book No Scrap Left Behind.

I can’t wait to see your creative ideas Kristi. Pinwheels are fun!

Another great looking pinwheel project. Looks like something I would try.
