I am looking for the directions to do a tumbling block quilt using strip piecing. I found a tutorial on Youtube (see link below), but I have tried to follow the instructions and failed. I think there is some important information that is missing. I did just as she shows using 2 1/2 inch strips and the 60 degree angle. Can anyone help?

I did find an older post on here after I made this one. I found a link to some directions, but they don't seem to be just like she did in the video. I am so confused!

Sorry to keep posting but these are the directions I found to go with the video. Does anyone know if this works? I was thinking the strips should all be 2 1/2 inch, but this calls for some to be 3 inch.

I don't know the answer but I am waiting for our more knowledgable ones to answer as this is one quilt I am hoping to get too soon.

The link to the hgtv., and the 3" might possibly be a typo, since the others are all 2 1/2". Other than that I can't really give you any advice since I've never done a tumbling block, but her method does make it sound doable, so I might have to do one in the future. Thanks for your question.

You did read right, they need 2.5" and 3" strips to make this strip pieced.

I just finished a quilt top using a strip method for the tumbling block. The method is by Marci L. Baker and she has Alicia's Attic. The directions were perfectly clear and easy to do. Try Alicia's website.
