A while ago I inherited a scrap quilt and bond it with four different fabric on the sides and ends. It's one of my favorite. It's different.

Sometimes I use scrappy binding from leftovers projects and sometimes I just pick a color and go with it. No quilt police will come and knock on your door no matter what you use.

I just bound a practice quilt with scrappy binding. It looks cool though not the easiest to finish by machine. On reflection I think I ought to have cut the strips wider.

I also do a scrappy binding, it just seems to go well with the quilt. The quilt pictured is a crumb quilt, with a few orphan log cabin blocks.

This is what I do too.

I am in the process of making a mystery quilt with my guild. I am using my mom's scraps that I inherited. I also have a large roll of leftover binding pieces that she collected. I plan to use that as my binding.

Thank you, justflyingin! My quilt went to a young teenage girl, who had been in a terrible car accident. I make many charity quilts every year for children who are in need of a comfort quilt.
