Gingers are my all time favorite. Wiss is another good brand, though you may have to go to a fine stationary store to get them. I've had my gingers for 10 years never sharpened. My dh has a pair of Wiss since HS (he graduated 40 years ago) still as sharp as the day they were purchased. I also have a Wiss pinking sheer inherited from my mil who went to dressmaker HS. They need to be sharpened but they are also from the mid 1930[s.

I initially started this topic back in October, and I have been overwhelmed by the very helpful responses. I would love to have purchased several of the brands that were suggested but had to be real. This past weekend, I FINALLY made my decision and purchased not one ~ but 2 pairs of Ginghers! I bought the 8" "Knife/serrated Edge Blunt Bent Trimmers" and the 8" "Lightweight Bent" at 'Joann's Fabric' using the 40% off + 10% off total purchase coupon sale. The Lightweight pair will be used when I go to classes. More than likely, I will also purchase a good pair of shorter scissors to also add to my collection of prized scissors/shears. My family knows that these are only to be used for cutting fabric and thread. I am VERY happy with my final decision and I thank you so much!
