Default Sullivans quilt basting spray

I washed a quilt that I used sullvans quilt basting spray and the basting spray didn't come out of the quilt. How do you get the basting spray out of the quilt.

What do the directions say? I've never used it.

I've used Sullivan's before and it came out in the wash. How heavily did you spray? And how did you wash the quilt? You may need to wash for a longer time in warm water, as it may need more agitation to dissipate.

Or maybe let it soak for a while.

I have always used it sparingly especially since it doubled in price @ JAF. I would try the suggestion of soaking it maybe overnight. You might just throw in a color catcher just in case of any bleeding.

I have used Sullivans always and never had this problem---my guess is that you sprayed way too heavy--it only takes a very light spraying to get it to adhere. I wash all my quilts before I give them.

hmmm, never happened to me.and how do you know it's not out?
i would soak it out. basting spray should be used sort of like hair spray. sparingly. i just spray while moving my arm to the right and down then spraying the next "row" and on and on. Besides, using sparingly saves me buying a new can, he, he. Good luck.

Ok, you're scaring me now. If it's hard to wash out that might be a problem. I was going to try using spray baste as a friends says it's great. She's going to show me the tricks sometime after the new year. SO sparingly is the key? I know Craftsy teacher Ann Peterson uses spray baste. I'll be watching this post for more updates.

I also only use Sullivan's and have never had a problem. A friends and I buy a box together which helps the price. I just wave my arm back and forth over the quilt lightly and it does the trick very well!
