I just stay in when it's hot, and sew away! I do tend to do hand quilting in the cooler months, however.

well, it was a heat wave this week, 92 degrees. For some reason, I not only had the urge to sit at the machine every afternoon, but I was sewing flannel quilts. Go figure. Must have been heat stroke..lol...but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...got 2 tops done in 3 days...

rainy and cool has to be Alaska; because it hasn't been cool or rainy here for weeks.

It's been pretty cool around here lately too. I've been sleeping with a quilt every night (when DH has ceiling fan running)
My toes are cold right now!!!

It hit 101 hear today.I haven't touched the sewing machine in days. I need to finish a top to take to Knoxville next week. No energy when it's this hot. I'm also spending my summer driving my 2 DD's to work. Between the 2 of them, 125 miles a day. Not much time to quilt if I had the energy.

Aren't you lucky !!!!! We've had 95-101 for the past several days. My daughter said her car registered 114 outside when she was sitting in the sun !
Enjoy the rest of your summer ! I'm looking forward to getting a lot done no matter what the weather is.

I don't get a whole lot of sewing done during the summer only because the kids are home. It's easier when the 2 older ones are gone because little man will play with his toys while I sew. The other 2 drive both of crazy.

I think sewing 'in spurts' or when the weather is not behaving itself (hot or cold) is perfectly normal.

When it's winter, the wood burner is going and it doesn't kick on the furnace which warms my basement sewing area. I don't want to sew then!

With the a/c running and an extra fan blowing on me I continue to sew thru the summer. I usually piece in the summer though and quilt in the fall and winter.

DH was thoughtful to buy a window A/C unit for my sewing room about a month ago! I have been up here more than anywhere else, the only other air is in our bedroom! I melt when I go downstairs!

I sew no matter what it's like outside. Do machine quilting so temp is not an issue. Just trying to use up the fab I have. Getting tired of seeing the same stuff everytime I shop for fab in my stash. Starting to collect pic of quilts I see on the internet w/contact info so when I want to sew something new, I be able to order the pattern. Coltide has WONDERFUL quit patterns.

I don't care much for the heat so I sew all year long. However there's so much more to do in the summer time---swim lessons for dd, her being home during the day, garage sales, vacations, etc.
