Swoon pattern makers
Tell me how it went. There's a lot of piecing in each block - was it painful?
I have a collection of really gorgeous french chintz prints that might work well, but I want to feature the florals, not cut them up so the print are mangled. This quilt looks like a pretty good idea that way, but man...maybe with all those HSTs it's not the best choice.
It demands a lot of accuracy yes? Please share your experience with this gorgeous pattern with me!

If you make the original pattern - they are BIG blocks. Painful? LOL Not until I got my pieces mis-numbered! And that didn't dawn on me for a bit and I ended up cutting some more, then had too much of one color lol. It was a fun quilt to make. Love the blocks. Love the different look based on where you put your lights and darks. Make one block. If you decide it's not for you - turn it into a pillow! Only advise I can provide is to pay attention to the pattern directions, and go for it!

I am working on quilting mine now - messed it up because the spacing isn't working and trying to decide if I'm going to rip out - probably not. Aside from that, it was fun to make. I did my HST's the Jenny Doan way, which I think is easier. Here is mine post sandwich/pre quilt

If you have fat quarters your using be sure to measure carefully.... and double check before cutting. Once I got my first block together the rest went quite quick. waiting to get my Swoon back from the quilters

I have made this one with great success. Less piecing and a smaller block. http://doublenickelquilts.blogspot.c...ilt-block.html
I also made the original with the huge blocks and was totally exhausted and bored with it by the time I finished

Thank you for sharing. I like that method better.
