I have noticed how people will write out the word 'degree' because no one is aware how to make the 'º' symbol. It is simple: press down the 'Alt' button, while doing that punch in '167', release the 'Alt' button, voila the degree 'º' symbol will appear.
Another symbol is the cents '¢' symbol. Simply press down the 'Alt' button with one hand, punch in the numbers 155, release the 'Alt' button and like magic the cent '¢' symbol will appear.
