table cloth?

I have one in the planning stages right now and my plan is to use flannel for the backing--no batting at all. I will have to pre-shrink the flannel & top though, so it doesn't wrinkle up when it's washed. I like wrinkly quilts but not wrinkly tablecloths.

You could use a very thin batting such as PRE WASHED flannel, or a good muslin (also prewashed), then again, you could just use a good quality sheet. Just make sure everything is prewashed. You might even want to use poly cotton instead of 100% cotton for the top that way it wouldn't have to be ironed.

My hubby lets me take his shirts to the cleaners!!
Otherwise it takes forever to press his shirts, and as for his pants, what crease??? You mean there is supposed to a crease down the front of the leg? Can't believe it, I am ironing more now than ever before LOL. sure is more fun, though.
